Brian & Emily’s Beautiful Estancia Hotel & Spa Wedding

With the weather slightly overcast and the fog kept creeping in and out throughout the day making the Estancia Hotel & Spa the perfect backdrop for Brian & Emily’s wedding.    I was in detail heaven.  From the tall palm trees to the cactus’ through out the  property.  The flowers from the floral designer, Flowers etc. were simply beautiful. Emily was in her element on her wedding day.  She was glowing with happiness and excitement and was the perfect bride!

Emily had an amazing open suite with tons of open light. Shooting the bridal prep is one of my favorite times on the wedding day! You can all the planning & preparation that has gone into the brides wedding day from the little details to the final donning in the wedding dress.

Emily looked stunning in her Ines Di Santo wedding gown.

Right before Brian came to see Emily for the first time he had to stop to hold back his tears.  He then recomposed himself and greeted his beautiful bride to be with his charming smile and good looks.

Featured Interview ~ Coffee Chat with the Spiraled Stem

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2010 and a whole new lineup of blog series we will be featuring at The Spiraled Stem. Our first series is called Coffee Chat with The Spiraled Stem, where I sit down with one of my colleagues in the wedding biz for a fun Q&A about them and their biz. Subscribe to our RSS feed to catch all of our Coffee Chat guests!

Episode 1 is with Miguel Pola from Miguel Pola Photographers located in La Habra, CA. We sat down at the floral design studio to chat about his approach to wedding photography, what his clients should expect in their consultation and relationship with him through the course of the wedding, how to create timeless photos that will look just as fresh when your grandkids look at them as they did on the day they were taken, and the highlight moment in a wedding that he loves to capture for his clients. You can visit his website at www.MiguelPola.com for more information and to view his portfolio!  Not sure why but the audio is a little off from our moving mouths.  Hope you enjoy.

Scott & Sommer’s Haute Wedding Album

Heres’s Sneak Peak at Scott & Sommers Haute Wedding album. This is one of our Signature Crystal Cover series albums custom designed for Scott and Sommer.  Sommer decided on a romantic spanish feel of El Adode Restaurant in San Juan Capistrano. The day and the setting was gorgeous. Being a fall wedding the skys were the perfect shade of blue with just the right amount of clouds.

Sommer had her bridal prep at her aunt Christie’s amazing private residence in the Villa Park Area of Orange Ca.  We hope you enjoy this album as much as we did.       Wedding Photography | Orange County Wedding Photographers

Zak & Melissa’s “Last house on the left” the movie E-session

Zak & Melissa came to me from one of my favorite previous clients, Steven & Danielle Sanchez. Zak and his father are avid golfers. So when Zak & I were talking about their engagement photography session he mentioned he wanted to do it at the Hacienda Golf Course where Zak’s dad has been a member for years. The cool thing was, that they also brought to the engagement session their little boy Gavin. Gavin was all over the place trying to play golf and having a great time. After the Hacienda Golf Course we drove around the La Habra Heights and ran into an abandoned building/property. We decided the heck with it. Let’s do this. It kind of felt like we were on the property of the movie the “Last House on the Left”. Kinda erie! We opened up the old Garage shed to find this old 70′s model Mercury Car and began to photograph on and around it. Melissa was a trooper, down for anything! Zak & I kept our heads on a swivel in case some psycho came out of the woodwork!. Over all, fun times! Zak & Melissa will be having thier wedding at Rancho Capistrano in San Juan Capistrano. Be sure to let the 2nd to the last image load its pretty sweet! Don’t forget to Leave Zak and Melissa some Blog Love By Leaving them a comment.

Leo & Anna’s Rockin’ Wedding

I Know, I know… I haven’t posted for a while.  That should be changing pretty soon. I have lots of events to blog and some awesome images to show for them.Let’s start with Leo & Anna. You may remember them from their Los Angeles Union Station Engagement Session.  On their engagement shoot Leo & Anna were kinda shy about being in front of my lens. Their wedding was a different story.  They were both hams in front of my lens this time.  Anna is starting out in the floral design business. She stayed up all night, the night before to arrange and design her flowers for her very own wedding.  (Man, What a trooper!)  And damn she did an amazing job.  While getting ready at the Sheraton Cerritos Hotel, we were able to get some beautiful pre ceremony photos. The Sheraton Cerritos is conveniently  located  near the Cerritos Sculpture Garden. Which is where we had  Leo & Anna’s First look.  With a busy wedding day planned Leo & Anna decided on having a first look so that they can spend some alone time together prior to their ceremony.  I personally love the concept of “The First Look”.  It allows the couple to see each other without all the ceremony nerves that go on.  Believe me, First Looks can be just as if not more emotional than the actual ceremony.  It’s not uncommon for the bride and or the groom to become overwhelmed with emotion.  It’s a great opportunity to talk to one another and express special feelings to each other prior to their much anticipated wedding ceremony at the Buena Park Holiday Inn.

Here are a few of my favorite images from their amazing wedding.  Feel free to leave some love down below.
